What is a sprint retrospective?
A sprint retrospective is a short meeting at the end of an agile sprint where the team reflects on what worked, what didn't and which improvements to try next. It is one of the core Scrum events and typically lasts 45โ90 minutes for a two-week sprint.
How do I run a retrospective with Retrospective Lab?
Open the boards page, click "Create a free board", pick a retrospective template (for example Start/Stop/Continue or Sailboat) and share the board link with your team. Everyone adds cards, votes on the most important ones, and you turn the top items into action items โ all from one screen.
Do I need an account to use Retrospective Lab?
No. The 48 standalone tools and the retrospective board work entirely in your browser without an account. An optional account lets you sync boards across devices and recover them later.
Is Retrospective Lab really free?
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited retro boards, all 45+ templates, voting, comments, drag-and-drop, export to Markdown/CSV/JSON and all 48 agile tools. We will introduce paid Team and Business tiers in the future for shared, real-time team boards.
Which retrospective template should I pick?
For a new team, start with Start/Stop/Continue or Went well / Could be better / Actions โ they are simple and focus on concrete next steps. For mature teams, try Sailboat, 4 Ls or Six Thinking Hats to reach deeper insights. You can always change the template per sprint.
Where is my retrospective data stored?
Boards belonging to a signed-in account are stored on Supabase (Postgres + Auth, EU region). The 48 standalone tools (calculators, generators) keep their data exclusively in your own browser via localStorage and never leave your device.
